Though he is sleek and handsome, it isn't unusual for others to think of Foxstep as an odd looking cat. He has a larger build than what might be considered normal for an average cat. But his lean body, which seems not to collect extra weight despite him loving meal time, along with longer legs to match his large build can give him a mix-matched appearance at times. A love for running keeps this tom in good shape and a nice, slender form that sometimes (especially in leaf-bare) is along the border-line of being under-weight. Tight muscles ripple like waves under his skin, but they don't give him the broad appearance most would expect with his large boned build. Foxstep only has the necessary warrior muscle ratio and doesn't have extraordinary strength. In fact, often times Fox would rather rely on his agility and long, powerful limbs to assist him with fast moves rather than brute strength.
Foxstep was named after his fur, which obviously must resemble the sneaky creatures. His pelt is also part of what makes him quite different. He is mostly described as a ginger or russet-colored tom, but isn't a normal orange tabby as you would expect. Instead he has the coloring of a fox, as mentioned above, with a coat painted a solid red-brown color that darkens along his back and tail. Fox almost seems to have a earth-toned pelt tinted a deep russet. His mother was instantly reminded of the creatures, despite their infamous standing by the clans, so 'foxkit' he was labeled. Another similarity between the sly creature and this handsome tom is the white marking which starts under Fox's nose and continues down his muzzle and throat. Foxstep's coat is quite thick, usually taking on a soft, plush look which reflects on the good grooming it receives. His long tail is also fluffed out, looking as thick, if not thicker, as the rest of his pelt.
This tom appears to have a somewhat broader face, a sort of mane around where his head meets his neck. Besides this, Foxstep is blessed with facial features that match up well with the rest of his body. Two triangle shaped ears flow up-wards smoothly, and surprisingly seem to be the right size for his face. Moving down you notice next his clear eyes, pools of hazel tinted green. Windows to his emotions, they are usually warm and proud, although a shadow tints the depths at times. His narrow muzzle is painted white at the tip that flows down to his lower throat as mentioned earlier. Long, white whiskers sprout from under his skin toned, heart-shaped nose.
One of Foxstar's most noticeable features is a part in his fur along his right shoulder where the fur just barely covers a scar in which he earned with a close encounter with the same creature which he is named after. Ironic, right?

Honeypaw kneaded the snow, the cold substance moving in between her toes. What an odd feeling. She turned her head toward Oceanfrost as the she-cat began to speak again. Small triangles pricked, the soft interiors expertly capturing her words. Her mentor's voice was rough, interrupted vocals flowing from her throat. Listening to the content the ginger apprentice could tell why. A twist of pity formed for the silver warrior. Yes, a blind cat pitied a sighted one. Honeypaw knew her training would be awkward enough, trying to figure out the best ways to teach, without having to worry what you said around her. She would have to explain to her mentor this. But instead of speaking she nodded, her head tilting in a gentle swing.
"Now, why don't you tell me what you smell. Don't limit your explanation to prey." Honeypaw forced her tail, rapidly swinging in constant circles, to still and touch the snow. Twitching her pink lined nose she concentrated on the air around her. Parting her jaws she drew in the air and the scents became stronger and sharper. Believe it or not, blindness had its advantages. For example, Honeypaw was able to detect scents better than sighted cats. After a moment Honeypaw turned toward her mentor again, jaws parted, but this time to voice her finds instead of scenting. I smell cats, obviously. Windclan is the strongest but the winds coming from the lake carry other cat scents, the scent of cat with sharp pine and trees and cats that smell like fish. I don't smell prey... The bridge of her nose wrinkled at the unfamiliar cat smells, which she guessed came from the other clans.
She continued to taste the air, pushing the cat scents and the borderlines out of her mind. If Oceanfrost was right there should be prey out, a least a small skinny rabbit or something. Not finding any at first she sat down, wrapping her tail around her fore-paws. Oceanfrost, you know you don't have to watch what you say around me. So I'm blind, but you don't have to feel awkward about speaking about seeing. I don't care. What I don't like is when cats try to treat me like I'm different, like they feel sorry for me. There is nothing to feel sorry for... Her words trailed off as she let her small speech sink in. Honeypaw hoped she gave her mentor some comfort, reassurance at least. Suddenly her triangle shaped ears pricked up, her nostrils flaring. There was a scent she knew! Her voice became low, an excited squeal concealed. Rabbit!
