They all paced, back and forth. Their eyes barely open, their ears pinned downward...
Of course it wasn't their fault, not the fire, but maybe the reason for the fire...maybe that was their fault. Ever since the fire came, it's been happening. The smoke... In Starclan, nothing can hurt the cats, their dead, their in the starry skies, nothing can hurt them. At least that's what they thought. The cats of Starclan sit, watching the fire rage on, watching the cats struggle, they feel helpless. But then a black smoke strikes all of Starclan, and the cats of Starclan can't breath, they can't see, they can't hear. It just comes roaring in, and the worst part? The cat's of Starclan can't run away. It encircled them the first time, and all times afterward. "What's that?" Said a kit, who had died before their time. When he looked up, he was stricken with surprise to see the obvious expression of terror on all the cats faces. "I'm scared!" he cried and the smoke took him up, surrounded him and drifted off, and the kit was never seen again.
But why?
Who?
Who would be angry enough with Starclan to do this to them? And what would they be so mad at?
And How?
How could Starclan cats possibly be harmed. They weren't real. They existed only in the skies. They suffered enough watching the clan cats die, but now they have to suffer the smoke themselves.
Back on Earth, the clan cats were suffering just as much, feeling quite abandoned by Starclan. No prophecies, no signs, no dreams, nothing. Meanwhile, Windclan seems to be struggling with lack of cats. It seems as if they had simply vanished off the face of the earth. The rest of the clans didn't much notice though, for they were struggling with the fire. As it rages on, some sit with Riverclan, hoping for protection, others are elsewhere, unknown to the rest of the clans. Many cats are loosing faith in Starclan, and turning to other things for hope. This isn't accepted, and is against the warrior code. And for this reason, these cats are hated, exciled. When all the clans need is to stay together and work as one, the exact opposite is happening.
It seems like Starclan and the other Clans are so far apart. If only they could go back..
